Wavy Tables
My “Wavy Tables” are functional artworks, inspired by the ocean and its movement. The two, cast concrete, mosaic tables and four benches were created for the Senior Activity Center in Pompano Beach, Florida. The proximity to the ocean is an important part of life for residents of this community. This design is a playful take on the natural world. It incorporates bright and muted colored, repeating patterns, and symmetry. A geometric wave pattern graces the surfaces of the table and bench tops. Abstract waves wrap around the side of the table stand. The top of the tables include checker boards and a flat surface, so that the many seniors that utilize this center can play a variety of games with one another. I hope these tables are enjoyed by this special community for many years to come.
