Public Art > Carpet Collage

Carpet Collage is a site-specific mural installed on Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, between Dean and Bergen Streets. The 12 x 160 foot mural was commissioned by NYC Department of Transportation in 2021, with support from Vanderbilt Avenue Open Streets.

New Yorkers have always thought of our streets, sidewalks, and public spaces as an extension of home- especially for the last year and a half. I hope this makes you think of this city as your living room.

Mega-super-thanks to my incredible installation team, and support behind the scenes. We installed this project, start to finish, in less than 48 hours. Thank you James Illig, Madeline McGrath, Alisha Horne, Jenna Ventura, Cary Hulbert, Farah Mohammad, Katie Miller, Hannah Rohrs, Sam Adelberg, Catherine Falco, Nicole Florio, Alison O'Driscoll, Noga Cohen, Ivana Carman, and Kea de Buretel for all of your help making this project happen!!

Thank you Shawn Skinner - the best - for photos, drone photos, timelapse, and video. All documentation was taken by him unless otherwise noted.
